Steve Greaves has been involved in wilderness survival and adventure sports since he was a young person. His love of the challenges and tranquillity of the wilderness has shaped his way of life and led him to make outdoor learning the centre of his professional practice.
Steve has over 20 years experience developing and leading outdoor learning through adventure sports and more recently, Forest School. Much of this time has been spent with children and young people with special educational needs, including those presenting extremely challenging behaviour and those diagnosed as having severe emotional and behavioural difficulties (E.B.D).
He is qualified through the Open Collage Network as a Forest School Practitioner and is involved in providing Forest School Leader Training in association with the Forest School Training Company.
Before founding Outdoors Unlimited Steve was employed as Teacher at a primary school for children with E.B.D in the North East of England where he established and led a full-time Forest School programme that augmented the classroom-based learning of the school.
Steve is also accomplished in bushcraft, canoeing, climbing, caving and diving, with leader-level qualifications recognized by the sports' governing bodies in a number of adventure sports.
